Earth & Turf manufactures commercial-grade compost spreaders, topdressers, and other specialized spreading equipment for landscapers, turf professionals, growers, homeowners, and other customers. The company operates as part of Conestoga Manufacturing, which also manufactures a line of manure spreaders. Because Earth & Turf serves a specialized market, its sales model includes both equipment dealers and direct-to-customer sales. When there is not a local seller available, the team can work directly with the customer to help them select and purchase the equipment they need. That direct relationship makes having a simple equipment financing process especially important. ## When Equipment Financing Creates More Work Than It Solves Before APPROVE, offering financing was anything but simple for Earth & Turf. “I think the best word would probably be a mess,” said Kevin Eichelberger, Sales & Marketing at Earth & Turf. The company had access to financing through another provider, but Eichelberger found the process difficult to navigate. As a smaller business, the company has to be thoughtful about where its team spends its time. Taking on another specialized process internally means learning it, managing it, and following up with customers when documents or information are still needed.
